Speaking of ZoneAlarm..new updated version available today.
After following the trail on serial numbers on zips, I can only view the serial number on my zip disks after formatting them. It is then displayed on the report of the formatting. I have Dell oem installed 100 internal zip.

"Can't tell why I need the firewall from Norton as I have zone alarm and black ice but I can get it for $ 30 if I order the professional 2001 and I will get free shipping"

as i previously stated, in running all three firewalls simultaneously, i have the luxury (perhaps not the best word choice) of seeing which firewall is going to stop which intrusion attempt.

and it is with this observation that i share with you that norton personal firewall does detect some events while the others sit by silently.

of course, the opposite is also true, perhaps even to a greater degree. but without really delving into all of it and making sense of a very complex topic, i am content in knowing that i am just a bit better off with npf thrown into the mix along with za and bid.

btw, npf is update via liveupdate, and that is a bit easier than updating the other two.

tc, thanks for the heads up on the bid update!

:)
