( BW)(CA-WIRELESS-KNOWLEDGE)(MSFT)(QCOM) Wireless Knowledge Expands
Workstyle Server to Support Microsoft Exchange 2000
Business Editors and High-Tech Writers
San Diego--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 9, 2000--
Latest Version Of Workstyle Server Delivers Wireless Access To
Microsoft's Next-Generation Collaborative Platform
Wireless Knowledge Inc., a Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq:MSFT) and QUALCOMM Inc.
(Nasdaq:QCOM) company, Monday announced that Workstyle(TM) Server has been
enhanced to offer support for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
Enterprises deploying Exchange 2000 can now use Workstyle Server to provide
mobile workers with wireless access to this important productivity tool,
extending its capabilities to a broad range of wireless devices. Workstyle
Server support for Exchange 2000 is being demonstrated this week at the
Microsoft Exchange Conference in Dallas.
With the Workstyle Server, an enterprise can securely extend real-time
wireless access to both Microsoft Exchange 2000 and Exchange 5.5-based
corporate e-mail, calendar and contacts to mobile workers. The software
supports access via wireless Internet devices including mobile phones,
personal digital assistants (PDAs) and landline connections to PCs and
laptops.
"Wireless access to the corporate intranet is becoming the competitive
weapon for leading enterprises," said Bob Egan, vice president, mobile and
wireless, Gartner. "Mobilizing the corporate e-mail and messaging
environment is becoming a crucial component to enterprise collaborative
computing initiatives."
With the enhancement of Workstyle Server to support Exchange 2000, Wireless
Knowledge is now able to wirelessly mobilize existing Exchange 5.5 customers
and their migration plans to Exchange 2000, plus wirelessly enable new
Exchange 2000 installations that are just beginning to leverage the
increased productivity offered by Microsoft's popular collaborative
platform.
"Wireless Knowledge's ability to deliver the broadest wireless mobility for
Exchange 2000 enables us to provide a unique offering to Microsoft's
Exchange customers," said Eric Schultz, chairman and CEO, Wireless
Knowledge. "We can mobilize current and future Microsoft Exchange customers,
immediately extending their value beyond the desktop to the wireless device
of choice."
In addition, Microsoft and Wireless Knowledge recently announced an
agreement to provide customers of Microsoft with a complete solution for
mobile access to Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5, using Wireless Knowledge's
Workstyle Server.
Further, Wireless Knowledge contributed to the development of Mobile
Information 2001 Server and has been designated as a primary service partner
for enterprise mobility services including strategic consulting, application
development and education.
Previously code-named "Airstream," the Microsoft Mobile Information 2001
Server is a scalable and reliable mobile applications server that will
provide enterprise customers and mobile network operators with a rich
platform for delivering real-time mobile data services to any wireless
device. It will be in limited trials within the next 30 days and is expected
to ship in the first half of 2001.
"Wireless Knowledge has delivered a leading solution enabling mobile workers
to access their most essential corporate information," said Paul Gross,
senior vice president for Microsoft's Mobility Group at Microsoft.
"Now, with Workstyle Server available for Exchange 2000, as well as Exchange
5.5, we are in a unique position to provide corporate customers with the
benefits of mobile data access today, while also assuring them a smooth
upgrade to Microsoft's new Mobile Information Server when it becomes
available."

firewall to enable mobile workers access to key corporate information using

With the Workstyle Server, enterprises have the option of implementing
wireless data capabilities on their premises. Once the Workstyle Server is
installed, additional enterprise-specific applications can be developed.
Wireless Knowledge's professional services group is available to work with
enterprise customers to develop enterprise mobility strategy, and provide

development and training.
This Workstyle Server release includes support for wireless access to
Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 based e-mail, calendar and contacts. The
Workstyle Server supports a broad range of devices equipped with HDML, XML,
WML and HTML microbrowsers including Microsoft Mobile Explorer, the dual

Administrative tools are available for both server administration and help
desk personnel.

Thanks for the insight. I was thinking that in order to build a long term investment in a company, one would have to build it over a period of time, rather than do it all at once, like a trader would. Also, perhaps after you realize you want to buy it, you would still wait for a better price, so long as the outlook on the company's business remains unchanged.
