Dave,

Overall AMD branding needs to be the primary focus with the new and varied chips being released - and the fact that they are entering new business segments (or trying to). AMD has no apparent brand, because they've always been known (to the consumer) as an Intel wannabee. Now they have a superior product and WERE in an optimal position with good demand and Intel production problems.

An advertising budget for building the brand would not be contingent upon Athlon revenue dollar. Advertising/Marketing budgets are arbitrarily based on potential revenues and revenue goals. I'm sure you don't want the whole shpeal, because that would be a couple hundred page Power Point deck.

The bottom-line is that AMD needs a brand.
