Kieth I agree that it is probably better for Q finacially if they go with WCDMA since the overall equipment costs will be much higher.
I'm just trying to figure out why they would want to spend more and wait longer for an inferior technology.
The Korean Operators know CDMA better then any carrier so there must be a logical reason for them to want WCDMA so bad and it's just bugging the hell out of me until we find out exactly why.
It just doesn't make any sense to any of us, so unless the KO's are complete idiots which they are not, then they must know something we don't and I want to know what that is.

Keith: Perhaps the interest in i mode has to do with the ease of internet connection. So even though the speed is slow, it is a relatively smooth standard connection.

What is puzzling though is that CDMA / HDR uses standard internet protocols for connection.

Why is there an apparent preference for i mode, if there is?

Is it that i mode permits bypassing WAP?

But CDMA / HDR (1xEV) can bypass WAP, no?

Curious.

Best.
