Carl, No I don't. I really was trying to look at it from IDTC's perspective, not taking into account the other really much more prevalent realities. Like how the hell are they really going to do this?

I was just trying to say that if it is true that T will go all VOIP and require the remaining shares of NTOP that IDTC owns to implement that reality, it is probably worth more than $75 a share. Especially if IDTC senses that the remaining shares are integral to T's business strategy. There would also have to something in the deal that guarantees that this sale further increases IDTC's revenue streams more than simply holding onto the remaining shares.

A spin-off of T's LD in a typical IPO like fashion has zero appeal and will be treated as such on the very first day, and reinforced on day 2. Trying to find a way to make the LD more "sexy" in an IPO may or may not involve NTOP, but nothing of value is ever given away. Those in control of the cash cow will be in control of the new entity, it is just going to be repackaged to look purdy.

By the way those posts on T's bb were just planted speculation IMO, probably by the same guy (fonexec) who planted sprint takeover rumors a year or so ago.

Carl, I don't believe that is the discussion. I believe the possibility being discussed on several boards is this: That ATT would go ahead and tender for the balance of NTOP's shares. Then go ahead and switch over to VOIP using NTOP technology (which many of us believe is already deployed). Then combine NTOP with the long distance business which currently throws off, 8 Billion in cash flow and spin it.

This plan correlates perfectly with the WSJ article of October 4th on T's spinning the long distance and would double, triple or better the value given the savings to T.
