My Friends And I Discussed This Over The Weekend.

We felt a more befitting monument to PET'S legacy would be the renaming of the Canada Trail to the Trudeau Trail.

Isn't the Canada Trail supposed to signify unity? A more realistic approach would be to re-name the Trans Canada Highway after Trudeau because that was the route the trucks loaded with western tax dollars followed to Ottawa.

It would address the Nationalist aspect of his legacy without diminishing the contributions of such outstanding Canadian pioneers as Sir William Edmond.

Nationalist aspect of his legacy??????? Trudeau caused more devisiveness than any one else in our history. Why not let the people decide, by a question on the ballot at the upcoming federal election, if they even want the bastard remembered at all?

We felt that this snap decision was just that. They clearly did not consider , yet alone address , the possible backlash such a short sighted and narrow of thought pronouncement such as this would generate.

Snap decision??????? Liberals honoring Liberals..... Could you really expect anything but shortsighted narrowmindedness?

This is an insult to the West and its heritage.

An understatement!!!!!!

Did Tequila Sheila come up with this?

Sounds like something a narrow minded blue blooded Upper Canadian Heritage Minister would think up.

It does sort of smell like free flags

SHEESH!!

Has anyone checked to see if the SOB is still in the ground?

Yes, name the trail for him, good idea ... those not entirely enthused with the man's politics can console themselves with the fact that, when given the choice, bears do not shit in the woods but in the open places, especially on trails where the berries hang into the light.

But it's first come first served in naming, and that's Sir William's mountain period, eh.
