You know who does that on the Senior Tour? Arnold Palmer. They had an event each year nearby and the first three or four years I volunteered to marshal the green on a par 5 that requires a short carry over water, then doglegs right facing a "Tin Cup" style green, just like in the movie but years earlier. Every round, every year, Arnie would clear that dogleg, load up and splash. Everyone so badly wanted to see him make it that the crowd did the same thing as in the movie, every time. Cheer the shot, then a disappointed hush.
