Art, re: "If SanDisk can't fill all its orders, then isn't it possible that sales and net earnings will be less than anticipated earlier?"

I think that capacity should have been factored into the analyst's estimates with 2nd quarter guidance. Everything depends on their manufacturing execution.

I'm of the school that earnings really don't make all that much difference, as long as they are reasonably close to expectations. They influence the stock price for a few weeks. The real meat is the forward guidance, that will influence the stock price for the next 3 months (assuming you trust management).

Being in a capacity constrained high growth industry is certainly a double edged sword. If you execute well you gain in revenue, profit and importantly in market share; the opposite is also true.

On SNDK's website, the 128MB CF is listed for $325.

Today, I bought one in Hong Kong for my Nikon Coolpix 880, for $228, a 30% discount from the list price. The Kodak equivalent sells for slightly less, at $212.

What sorts of retail prices are people seeing on SanDisk's CF products?

Wondering whether the financial models used by analysts adequately account for this "discount" in SNDK's retail division.

Funny how prices for these products are relatively low despite of the fact that they have been "sold out".

Aren't we just 2 weeks away from the Lexar Trial? I wonder how long until Sandisk officially owns the keys to Lexar's former main office?
