Altera and Xilinx downgraded today.

SMH down nearly 10% as a result.

SSB and Lehman Bros. totally ax ALTR and XLNX

Stock of Altera tumbled almost 30 percent, or $12-3/16, to $29-11/16,
while Xilinx shed almost 30 percent, or $23-9/16, at $55-9/16 in heavy trading.

As far as I am concerned, Q3 earnings can't come soon enough.

I am encouraged that the Israel Finance Ministry is going ahead with loans to Tower Semiconductor. It is unfortunate that the violent clashes go on in the Middle East. Seems like every time things start looking good that trouble is right around the corner.

Of course, if a judgment goes against Lexar, it could be years before SNDK collects, given the stays that go with an appeal. So it could be a long time. But on the other hand, if SNDK wins in court, it can force Lexar to stop producing and selling anything, even during an appeal. Doesn't look very good for Lexar. I don't think the consequences of the upcoming legal action are factored into the share price of SNDK.
