Investors Business Daily poll shows across the board tax cuts are favored over cuts for a targeted few. 71% of those polled sail ALL income groups should benefit, which is Bush's position, vs 25% for "certain groups" as Gore urged. Even Gore supporters, by a 59%-37% margin, favored across the board tax cuts. Amazingly, some of the strongest readings came from the lowest income respondents. For example, those with incomes of $20000. or less favored across the board cuts to targeted cuts by 75%-20%. The breakdown for those making $100000. and more was 76%-21%. This clearly favors Bush.

Party Time, One of my problems with you, is that you are 50 years old (according to your profile), and are trying to act like 30 with idiotic phrases like "bum trip", and an admission of having the goal to party, and dance, all night. When one is showing the symptoms of being "middle aged crazy", it is a bit difficult to take anything they have to say very seriously. I have been around 15 years longer than you have, and have spent all but 5 years of my life in Texas, so know a great deal more about the state than someone from Massachusetts.

If you had familiarized yourself with Texas politics before shooting off your mouth, you would know about the miserable mess Bush inherited from the Ann Richards' time as Governor. Bush has made tremendous strides in bringing this state back to respectability that was lost by her administration. The only one I need mention at this time, is the dramatic improvement in the grades of the testing of student progress in Texas public schools. There have been many more that I have seen happen, and have enjoyed the benefits of a stronger state because of the efforts of Bush.

Gore was ushered into "public" service by circumstances, and the wishes of his father, along with a large financial boost from Armand Hammer of Occidental Oil. He has spent, virtually, all of his life in DC, and has done nothing for the state of Tennessee. That is why he is losing in what is supposed to be his own state. That is not true of Bush. Bush holds an insurmountable lead in Texas. If he were such a bad Governor, or weak leader, that would not be true in this state. Weakness is not tolerated around here for very long, and even the Democrats are voting for Bush. That is why his second election as Governor was such a landslide.

As a young man, Bush may have made a few regrettable mistakes but, I did too. I also know, that if he had a drinking problem, or any other substance abuse, and has kicked it, as is evident, he know more about such problems, is better able to deal with them, and better able to deal with an adversity. Most people around here know I was a drunk (called alcoholic by some) and having turned my life around, am stronger, but not prouder, for it. The same would be true of Bush.

Only "politically correct" simpletons use the term "Native Americans" when referring to the aboriginal people of the Western Hemisphere. If any of my Indian friends from Oklahoma saw your words, they are laughing their asses of at what a doofus you are. You can't, with any reasoning, blame Bush for anything about Galveston. As I said, it is a barrier island. Maybe you don't know what that means, but no man made structures should have ever been built on the island because of it's purpose in nature, and the erecting of edifices on the island began before 1800, so blame them, not Bush. Now, if you want to go after Jean LaFitte for establishing his pirate headquarters there, go right ahead. ~H~
