LG:

The Mideast situation is most relevant to the oil price which in turn is very important to the markets. The rights and wrongs of the Israeli-Arab dispute may not be relevant to this thread, but the future stability or instability of the region is one of the key factors impacting markets around the globe.

LG and Zeev, I agree with Zeev that ME affairs have a direct impact on market direction. However the particular post that LG was refering to was not exactly current affairs.
More topical it seems to me is the fact that while the news papers were declaring a peace settlement was in progress non-mainstream news sources were reporting lots of fighting in Palestine.

Here is one source flashpoints.net

Dennis Bernstein told the truth about the war in Kosovo.

Here is another source. addameer.org

Also counterpunch.org

Counter punch told the truth about the war in Kosovo

Also Amy Goodmans Democracy Now out of Wbai in N.Y.C. has very different coverage of many issues including the Palestinian situation. Sorry I don't have a link at the moment but you can hear the show over the internet. You can also hear Dennis Bermstiens show over the internet.

perhaps those that wish to express themselves about this issue should limit themselves to posting links on MDD, with a couple of sentences simply telling very briefly what the link is about.. Les does this a lot and it does not take a lot of band with, yet he gets to spread a lot of information. Perhaps more lengthy discussions should be posted to the site LG suggests.
