"I do feel distinctly uncomfortable with the doctrines that require fundamentalist Christians and Muslims to convert others to their faith, and with the branches of these faiths that seek to impose them on inherently secular fields such as governance and public policy." First; Your conversion, (or not) is not my responsibility. That is God's prerogative. God has condescended to use the frailty of humans as His messengers, and the foolishness of preaching the cross, as His message. I am simply obliged to share as one beggar to another, where the bread is. I'm sorry if you find that offensive, Most people do not like to hear, even from a doctor, that they have cancer. Sin is like cancer (we all have it) and unless it is dealt with it is deadly. How selfish and unloving of me, would it be to see a tumor growing on your forehead, and pretend that it wasn't there because it might offend you? How much more, if I recently had just such a tumor removed, but refused to share with you the name and address of the only doctor able to do the procedure? All I can do is tell you to go look in the mirror (Bible) for yourself, and tell You the doctors name,(JESUS). If you choose not to you have that right but you still have to live (or die) with the cancer. Second: The idea that morality cannot be legislated is ,I'm sorry, absurd. All laws are the imposition of someone's morality. The question is who's ? Irwin Lutzer said this; No law is "neutral". Every law imposes some form of morality on society. Thus abortionists impose their morality on the unborn; homosexuals want to have their views taught to all children in the public school classrooms, and atheists want religious influence excluded from public life. All of this is being done by passing laws that limit freedom of religion, freedom of speech, and in the case of the unborn, freedom to live." What laws would you like to see imposed and why? We have been discussing the nature of morality here for sometime. How do you determine what is right and wrong, and why. Oh and don't just say "my book is right so I'm right" I think that is so lame. Have a good day
