Rande I agree 100% today is a buying opportunity. Also I meant to say current conditions of the current Bear market have been very, very profitable for me. Having said that I am looking forward to the margin selling at the bell!

isnt everyone also looking (hoping) for a v bottom? that would be nice, but what is going to be the catalyst? its going to take a bunch of upside earnings surprises which is going to take time, or some surprise move by the fed, or some mega buyout at a big premium, but i dont see any big lifeline coming in soon, im afraid we are going to have to take some more pounding, not time to buy yet imo, my falling knife yesterday was bout, yahoo had good revenue numbers, but not good enough, bout is one of those screaming buys that nobody cares about right now, now we need to get through more margin calls, we are still at the stage where a lot of people are struggling to hold on, they are not throwing away stocks at any price ---yet

I'm wondering what will bring in the buyers. Several of the talking heads are saying we won't rally until AFTER the election, while at the same time saying it won't matter who is elected. Now what does that mean? If the election is a market uncertainty yet there is no official preference for either candidate than someone is lying.

Interesting what Gail Dudak just said, the downward trend in the market pulls power away from the administration in charge favoring the challenger. So the question is who does the street really prefer? And if it's Bush, this market will not come out of the doldrums until after the election. If it's Gore, it should as it will help him. It's a dead heat right now. And we're waiting for the market to show us some direction, the market it seems is waiting for the election. So we have a stalemate.

Rande. What is the best time of

day when margin selling might occur? I know there are a few coming (I received a call 10 minutes ago and was told I have until eod). I just transferred cash because I feel
we bounce right before the elections (of course I have Puts
for protection).

Rande... speaking of tubes...FiberSAM will hit pierce 5?. TYC paid $6.65 for their shares. Great support at 4 or above to 4 3/4. Another beaten down optic? Does anyone believe it can be had for less than 5? Would TYC buy them out?
