Wonder if Mr Mandich choose MOT over IBM ?

At 99's WWDC (5/99) there were 2 PPC factions in AAPL and MOT's G4 demo won further AAPL support .

However it looks IBM is still involved (IBM's O. Osborne's MWNY 7/99 comments of IBM's interest in supplying AAPL with "millions of PPCs").

IBM's last PPC news release (inexpensive G3s) mentioned the coming 10th Aniversary of AIM and confirmed IBM is delivering updated PPC chips to AAPL.

S Jobs confirmed to CNNfn's S Varney 7/00 appropiate supply contracts were in place with BOTH IBM and MOT.

But have you EVER seen AAPL's NEW 500MZ iMac advertised for its speed improvement over the 350mz iMac?

A marketing bummer. Looks like you can't sell MOT's G4 unless you use some duct tape and give 2 for the place of 1.

Wonder if AAPL's Board politely addressed this problem with Mr Mandich's retirement and former IBMer's Cook assuming the job as a "stand in".

BOD member Mr Yorke, himself a former IBMer, has some big-time skin in the game as CEO/Owner of Micro Warehouse.

IBM's $5 Bln chip plant investment announcement yesterday was coincidental with AAPL's recent Zeck change but indicative IBM believes in the PPC .

IMHO,
