Ted,

I don't know where this number (5.5 mil) came from. On one hand we have production and on the other hand we have demand. I don't know which side would be limiting the K7 shipments in Q4. I don't think it is production, and for the demand to be the limit, it may be too early to know the final numbers for Q4.

Actually there is not that much reason to speculate now, since we will know what the guidance will be in 3 hours.

Joe

Ted - RE: "Secondly, I am begining to sense some desperateness on the apart of analysts to call the shots now that the SEC ruling is getting ready to go into play...10/23. I think the analysts have been cut off from company info for a couple of months now because of the new ruling and they don't like it."

Interesting, I didn't know the date was this early.

The 5.5 number is being focused on because it was the lowest estimate and when people worry they look at the worst case.

"Its clear that the P4 is not going to be the a threat for all of 2001...

With Timna cancelled maybe Intel will be able to increase production of P4, but it is still stuck to DRDRAM. When it moves to .13 and gets a SDRAM/DDR SDRAM chipset Intel will have a much better platform.

Can't wait for the CC, even though I probably won't be able to hear it live.
