AMD had good news after the close as well, reporting that their earnings beat the consensus estimate by 2 cents per share. dailynews.yahoo.com The only forward looking statements that I can find in the press release are:

"There's very high demand for our high-performance Athlons," Sanders said.

"In the fourth quarter, AMD expects to sell 8 million to 9 million of its Athlon chips and its Duron chips, which are aimed at the low-cost PC market and compete with Intel's Celeron chips. It also forecasts annual 2000 sales of $4.8 billion compared with $2.9 billion in 1999."

The news from GLW and AMD should help the Nasdaq, and semiconductor and PC stocks in particular, rebound from a grossly oversold condition. If the market can't rally tomorrow, we are in deep doo doo.
