Ted, My disappointment in the ASP's is due to how it shows the PC market in gereral. IMO, lower ASP's shows the market is weak enough to force AMD to go lower in prices than they wanted to. Just got done listening to the CC. Seems more positive than I expected. I think this is due to low expectations. Apparently, the public had thought AMD had been crushed, so meeting estimates may be seen as a big positive. Given the beating the stock has taken, we may be headed up a little if the general market can bounce. If the Naz keeps going lower, these numbers mean nothing IMO. chic

ted, <do they expect Sanders to walk on water> and <how can you gain market share without undercutting Intel> My sentiments exactly. The low stock price has made everyone into a bunch of whiners. AMD picked up a couple points of market share in both $'S and UNIT'S. So our infrastructure partners screwed us by not coming out with cheap motherboards. That'll change in a jiffy when both ALi and VIA (SiS too?) come out with their chipsets, not to mention nVIDIA. I've fallen hopelessly behind in reading the Mod thread and it was getting a little sickening reading all the complaints. Do you find that the mod thread is "whiny-er" than this one? Petz
