When there are lots of shorts and the stock hasn't rebounded or even consolidated its losses much, an oversold bounce is always possible. Many shorts wait for that bounce to open new positions.

In this market climate, anything is possible, up or down. I would still rather play puts than short, given the spike that the right PR could provoke.
