I think that people do not understand Arafat tactics. I did listen to Barak and he was unequivocal, Arafat instigated the riots (he got Hamas and Isballa together in a meeting of his Government). While he did not say it, I heard the implication that Barak think that Arafat started the mayhem to try and get even more (what more can he get now? thousands of Palestinians dead, tens is not enough?) than what was offered at the negotiation table.

I also think that he is making a severe mistake, because the Israeli are going to take the deal off the table, and for each month that passes without peace, a piece of what was offered will be withdrawn. He'll end up with much less than he could have gotten, IMHO.

Personally, I think that Jordan annexed the west bank in 1950, and the Israeli should deal with Jordan and give it back that hot potato.

As for how it affects the turnips, a bump on the road, IMHO.
But I agree with Tim that next year will be much worse. But between here and election, we should have an occasion to get some stuff off the table with profits.
