Excellent post. MRVC for one is being heavily played with.
This leads some here to think they are smarter than we are - and they are, but only on market dynamics, not on fundamentals. Anyone thinking the market in general has a better handle on those items is smoking something. Oh, there may be some things we don't have a clue on, but as far as the general picture, we do quite well and these threads.

The differences btw. the way individual brokerages 'manage' their client data would provide the opening. The potential certainly exist, but how would we ever know? I'm sure that these systems are highly proprietary & customized, but unsure as to the extent of regulatory supervision & requirements as to their operations. I'm even more unsure as to the extent of account holders rights & privileges as it relates to privacy & transaction histories. Who has access rights to such info.? Personally I don't want anybody but myself & the lender, ie.. broker knowing about my debt/borrowed/margined obligations. The brokerage, as the source of said funds knows for what & how much; but what responsibilities & obligations of such information are to remain private, & which can be used for other purposes?

What privacy rights do account holders possess vs accured financial data transaction history rights does the brokerage have? Does anybody know of how the various brokerages may compare in this regard?
