Re: MSD "says what he feels" and undoes all that effort.

I guess no one has told the emperor his fly is open.

Those quotes from MD are somewhat amazing to me. I'm becoming a little dumbfounded. The term PC has clearly become part of the old economy vernacular... it's politically incorrect as it were. I guess if Dell only gets it half right and succeeds at managing expectations but fails at managing perceptions that's better than the previous 0 for 2.

Dell has a hard time hiding his enthusiasm for the opportunities that still exist in the PC market and how his company is positioned to gain more market share. No one it seems has told him that nobody is interested in that story anymore. It's OK to grow that business and gain market share just STOP TALKING ABOUT IT! There is a much better story to tell in the enterprise space.

It's little wonder why a company like Dell who is performing so well in terms of liquidity, profitability and growth is being punished like a company that's loosing money.

We can always hope that in 2001, the term 'PC' will become synonymous with accelerating growth again.
