"software is stickier than hardware" I agree 1,000%. I was just chatting about this very subject this AM with someone. I had worked at several companies that took the disk drive market by storm (when disk drives were in their tornado) and now, 14-15 years later they are all out of business. On the other hand I've worked with several software companies who are in the same sector as Siebel and they are still around even though Siebel has eaten their lunch. Why? It's dang hard for companies after they spend millions on purchasing, installing and modifying up the ying yang a software app to then start the whole process over again with another company. Of course there IS a difference between 'hanging around' versus 'thriving' <g>
