Instead of arguing through labeling and diminution of other's intellectual prowess, maybe you would like to define what do you see the role of the Federal Central bank here and central banks in other countries?

We had a concerted intervention to stem the decline of the Euro just a fortnight ago (if you were not blind, you knew it would come and you also knew it will be just a "band aid"). We had interventions prior to Y2k, we had intervention during the Asian melt down, a massive intervention aid package to Mexico few years back, in short a very active central bank. Could you visualize what would have happened if those interventions would not have happened? Maybe it would have been better, but I for one, would rather not live through a period where the GDP is cut by 30% in a short two years.

Hey, if I heard Bush correctly during the last debate, he supported eradication of debt in third world countries (under the "right circumstances", suddenly, it is he who decides what the right circumstances are (g)). Is there any greater interference in the operations of "Free markets" than to tell the fiscally irresponsible, don't worry about your debt, continue you wasteful ways, Uncle Sam has a big pocket....

When you talk about "Free markets", maybe you should remember the old definition of "Freedom", namely, "recognition of the necessary".
