You sound knowledgeable and reasonable right up to the conclusion. I think Gore would be more of the same of the worst of the administration, if left unchecked. Wasn't it Clinton who happily let the government shut down because he would not agree to a balanced budget (a contract item, I believe)? He wouldn't agree simply on partisan political grounds and pride. Everybody in the country wanted it. The budget and debt reduction was exactly the reason for the shut down, with which Clinton was able to demagogue and smear Republicans. Now some remain skeptical that Gore is all about fiscal restraint. It ain't long ago that cat had a different stripe. I am highly skeptical and suspicious of all this new found religion on the left. You tell me the facts.
