Carl, did you catch this amusing bit from the Register yesterday?

Taiwan's DRAM makers signal shift to 16Mb theregister.co.uk

Taiwan Dramurai UMC has ramped up production of 16Mb DRAM chips to
capitalise upon the parts' higher profit margins as 16Mb parts become almost
as expensive as 64Mb chips.

According to Taiwanese business paper the Commercial Times, 16Mb chips
are only fractionally cheaper than 64Mb parts. The current price for 64Mb
DRAM is around $6 - 16Mb DRAM is now up to $5.37 and rising, the
paper says.

And etc. Obsolete memory can be profitable, it seems. Who knows, Rambus may actually make some money from Oki.

Cheers, Dan.

<<RDRAM has been out for a year, but Dell is still selling i820 motherboards with only 2 slots>>

Carl That's nice isn't it.
DDR has been scheduled for at leat a year and is still not out yet.

I believe RDRAM wins hands down on this comparison.

Bilow, you bashers have made a point about the 3 and 4 DIMM slot DDR mobos and have made fun of the 2RIMM mobos. I wonder what you'd say now that we know that DDR mobos showing at MP forum had 2 DIMMs. Will you wait and only buy 3 or 4 DIMM unstable mobos? I thought DDR was easy to design for yet it has proved much more difficult than RDRAM. I await your reply.

Carl re: DDR Motherboards at MPF.
The Hyundai MB appears to have four DDR/DIMM slots. The IWILL and Gigabyte both had three DDR/DIMM slots. (Foto's).

Carl,

Tenchusatsu is a well known Intel employee and proponent, so you might try discounting his predictions a bit.

Shame on you. Personally, I tend to discount the predictions of people who refuse to provide information about themselves that might help judge their credibility. If you can't provide credentials, then you must have few or none, I believe.

Do not try and diminish Tenchusatsu's credibility because he's been up front and honest about what he does.

I guess we just got another snapshot of your ethics.
