I think Bush's record is fair game, as is Gore's. The problem with a site that is rabidly antiBush, or anti-anybody, is that there is no balance, no consideration of the complex factors that are involved in statistics of all kinds, and I fear that the majority of Americans are not only ignorant of the facts, but worse- uncaring.

Whatever you and I may think of each other, we should at least respect the fact that we have each made some attempt to think through the positions of the candidates, and our own positions on the issues. For instance, you and I are more closely aligned on the issue of abortion, but veer far apart on others.

I would be awfully surprised to find anyone here who is 100% behind his candidate's every stand. What we have done at this point, is tried to find the man who is either most representative of our views, or, unfortunately in many cases, seems the least damaging alternative.

I was just talking to my son in Houston, who seemed to be breathing fine, by the way (that was a joke, AS!) and he was telling me about some "man in the street" interview he had heard after Debate #2. This person didn't even RECOGNIZE a picture of Bush; when asked what he thought Bush did, he said he didn't know, it looked like a man with stomach cramps.

These are the people who control the fate of the election? You either have to laugh- or cry.
