They forgot when they fell behind on PIII. When P4 comes out, I'm sure Intel will immediately remember the importance of MHz. ;^)

Scumbria,

C'mon, man! The point, which you are stubbornly refusing to discuss, is that Intel appears to have learned that winning the mhz war is not as important as having a successful launch. Sure, if P4 enables Intel to regain the mhz lead, I am sure they will brag about it. But Intel finally appears to have learned that a good launch is more important than winning a skirmish in the mhz war. It took them long enough.

AMD appears to think that big mhz leads and give-away prices are the way to go.

We will see over the next year who is right.

Frank

Hm, but how to avoid meantime customer perception of the importance of 1.0-1.5 GHz slot (open only for AMD in q4/q1/q2)?. Quite a stretch - or rather a classical dilemma? The ancient Greek would have love it! :)
