IMHO you need to look at forward PE rather than trailing PE, even though that means predicting the future.

Dan: You are correct but the herd hasn't been turned yet. We have all this tax selling ,Index adjusting etc,to take care of. And even though the selling today is prologue to a fear that the MSFT COULD guide lower, I think the selling public should consider what else MIGHT go on at the earnings meeting: Earnings could be slightly better, forward projections could be very positive, W2K/SQL market penetration could be accelerating, and they could announce a buy back of large proportions at this low price. I know this. I am going to buy a new cpu with W2K installed or at least buy W2K as I am not a gamer (this WS game is hard enough. I see the next qrtr. as being a great one. MSFT doesn't care whether Windows is run under AMD or INTC chip. I also believe that they are going to kick some serious butt in the enterprise area with their W2K/SQL products. JFD
