I don't understand the reason why so many get so weird about homosexuality (among adults). Why on earth would anyone care who puts what in whom and when? For someone to be spouting off about this says more about them than the issue itself.

Now if you are talking about people doing in front of open living room windows, I'd say, as a matter of public policy, it is probably not something you want people doing (heterosexuals or homosexuals and even by themselves). That is already prohibited for everyone.

Beyond that, if the government is going to give its blessings to unions, then they probably have to give blessings to all unions or stop blessing unions that are based upon religion alone (that gets dangerously close to establishment of religion, prohibitted by the First Amendment).

The good news is that if the U.S. Government stops recognizing marriage, and views all existing marriages as civil contracts between affected parties, that will end joint filing. We all can file as individuals. That certainly solves the marriage penalty now doesn't it?

Actually, this angry display toward homosexuals on this board

Well, I think you're a bit overboard yourself if you believe this is the case.

Personally, while I don't accept their lifestyle as natural, it's their right to live the way choose as consenting adults. But in my opinion, if you don't have the proper "plumbing" to procreate, then you're not in a natural relationship, but an elective one.

As for hate crime legislation, it's ridiculous to propose that gays, minorities, or anyone else murdered as a result of racial hatred possess more of a right to have their murderer pay the ultimate penalty than would a caucasian murder victim.

Hey.. if I were murdered, I wouldn't care why they killed me, whether for my money, my car, or because they thought I was a "cracka'.." I would want them ALL TO FACE THE ULTIMATE PENALTY, namely life, or the capital punishment in murder cases.

Any murder (not manslaughter, self-defense... etc), but down and out intentional slayings of innocent victims who were just "in the wrong place at the wrong time"...

Too much tweaking around with element of motive in a murder is a dangerous step to created protected classes of humans in a society where no one's rights are greater than the next persons.

If you want to fix the problem.. get tough with enforcement and sentencing of those already outrageous cases of murder.
