Hi John Walliker; Re Rambus' use of other's patents...

The anti-latchup circuitry would show up in the simulation models, if they're sufficiently detailed to show the traditional input structures (i.e. zener diodes or whatever they use nowadays).

I don't really expect Rambus lets a manufacturer of RDRAM or RDRAM controllers decide what kind of latch-up circuitry to use. What is your guess?

P.S. Isn't the RAC designed by Rambus itself:

Direct Rambus RAC (Rambus ASIC Cell)
(66 pages, 1.23MB, 7/24/2000, Revision 1.11)
Custom I/O macrocell athat interfaces the CMOS controller to the high speed Rambus Channel

Thanx for that clarification. The thread is full of Carl's BS. He seems to spit it out faster than it can be cleaned up. <uggh>
