Ridiculous? You oughta take a look at the Comdex conference planner. More Linux/free software tracks than MS/proprietary tracks by a wide margin. And this is COMDEX! --- If there's a problem with the Linux development model, FreeBSD (actually the superior TCP/IP stack to both NT *and Linux) is right there with a newly invigorated democracy. Free *nix may not have a brand (like Sun Solaris -- also free now, btw except in large enterprise installations), but it's not going away. --- What you don't realise is that free software is where it all came from. One day, Bill Gates decided that everyone but him was a thief and for awhile he had the majority of people believing it. Not anymore. -JCJ

speaking of fragmentation, msft has problems there too.

if linux gets out of control, then another, smaller free os will come along.

msft can't stop this. they can only try to spoil it -embrace and demolish.
