INTC: The world's greatest company

. . . . misses earnings by one cent and has $200 billion carved off its market cap? Am I missing something? Is Intel at 35 11/16 the screaming buy of the year?

I don't give a hoot about the reasons for the fall or the reasons for the eventual return of that $200 billion. Something is going to ignite a return to at least 50 by the end of the year. That's a conservative call. If Intel doesn't get back to 50 by the end of the year, I'll be shocked. It'll probably even get back to 60.

I'm talking about Intel, our country's greatest company, having its market cap trimmed to $240 billion. Cisco's is $384 billion. This is a joke. I'll bet by the end of the year Intel's market cap is back above Cisco's. Some "interesting" development announced by some "intelligent" analyst will occur, probably prior to Christmas. Calls six-months out, just to play it safe, may very well be in order for this Yankee, eh CrackerMan?

Just thinking, Tom. Damn, that's dangerous.

Oh, by the way, I got a call from a friend of mine this evening. He's a top-notch salesman for Hammermill. He was talking about me with the CEO the other day. He told him that I was a former attorney with U.S.-Irish citizenship. They want to talk to me about being "associated" with their new joint packaging operations with 3Com in Ireland. Um!!! Sounds mighty tasty.

Can we stop in Casablanca on the way to Dublin?
