Murali what the "white guys" did is already a crime. People beat the crap out of each other all the time, sad but true, I don't think that the sentence for the crime should turn on the racial or ethnic identity of the victim.

And that differs from assault and battery or attempted murder in what way? Is your friend looking for a federal handout because of it? (oh Lord....remarks were shouted at him??? that ought to be worth a few bucks huh?) Do you feel that my friends attackers, who also kicked my friend's teeth out, should go free because he was white? There is not an example of a crime you can give me that is NOT against the law. saying "hate"" in front of "crime" will not make it any less or more serious. SOMEONE just wants an advantage ......hmmmm..... I wonder why??

Was there no justice done in this example because no "hate" crime law existed, or did the fact that it was assault with intent enough of a crime? Did campus Police say I'm sorry we can't do anything because there is no law against assaulting Indians? The existing law know's no racial boundary. Jim
