This is a nasty and unforgiving market. What do you think of the FED chairman wanting to move trade clearing to 1 day, rather than the 3 currently? It looks to me he wants to protect the banks & clearing firms from investor defalults. He could see something serious down the road that we do not see, like if one bank or clearing firm falls, all the rest could follow, in a domino fashion. It could happen, with all the margin debt. All it would take is for people to start walking away.

Returned from work to find some sell stops hit: mostly chips (RFMD, for example) and a few i-nets (AOL, then bought it back at 45 and 46). Others continue strong: RSAS, PBSC, BVSN, DITC, ELON, FBCE, FDRY, PUMA, VERT, XCAR...not too many others, really.

I still have position buy signals on most "Bonehead Buys" listed yesterday...this "feels" more like the one-step-back rather than a full return to the downtrend of the past six weeks. Naturally, the talking heads are playing this for all it's worth, imo...but I think this is another opportunity to buy quality on the cheap (added LCOS at 37 and RFMD again at 22 1/2 a little while ago).

Stopped out of JNIC and FNSR, but now looking to buy them back, too. LPTH looks good in the low-mid 30's as a place to add or enter, imo. HLTH looks interesting to me now...may buy a small exploratory position in the low 9's--MK--

Rande, we talked about SWC before, this link explains what is wrong with it, and also what may cause it make a buyout run, but I won't hold my breath>
