I don't think I'd be comfy accepting that as a reliable rule of thumb. On this specific topic: I do not see any lasting good in un-gunning society. It contains as a basic premise that humans are too dangerous and unreliable to be trusted with guns. I don't want to put anyone in a position to dictate that sort of philosophy to me. Keeping my guns is one of the only ways to keep the folks who have ambitions of becoming my controllers honest. In summary, I counterargue that demonizing the firearm is actually the Devil's way in this instance ...jmo, of course, and about worth what you paid for it. <g>
