I have been hearing today that it is too late to remove the Governor from the ticket and if he wins the Acting Governor will get to choose the next Senator.

I didn't know a dead person could run for office and win?

Yup usually, but not always..sometimes weather, in which case the pilot should have checked or known about it before take off!
