glub glub ~ where's that snorkel and my Gloria Gayner tape? Autumn has finally come here in color. We weren't expecting much because of the drought, but it has turned into the beautiful autumn since the first I saw here in '81. Kinda like seeing your love the way she looked the very first time you saw her. It takes me a long time to get anywhere, though, because on the back roads I can go slow, and stop, and creep back and forth to catch the leaves in a slightly different light, setting them off anew. And sunset is remarkable with the sky and trees playing a duet. I'm going to wait a few days to sweep off the deck because I'm having fun crunching through the leaves. I did go a bit far yesterday. I was on the two-lane highway and watching the colors and writing a song in my head at the same time. That car slowing to turn in front of me was one thing to many to notice. I did just in time but it was a squealer. Drove that song plumb out of my head. Ah, well, it was just one more sad song. Who needs it.
