Well, apart from inadequate transcription that attributed some remarks of Gore to Bush, that is pretty much what happened, yes.....Sorry, I am not sure what the point is........

The rules of the debate forbid one candidate from presenting questions to the other. Bush was simply catering to Gore in giving him any response. Had Lehrer been on top of things, he would have cut Gore off at the pass before Bush even got a chance to answer. You really are selective in what you choose to react to. I also find that even when you are given a fair and accurate rebuttal you simply ignore it and make like it never happened. Not exactly an honest approach.
