Zebra gallops up to the pearly gates where he is greeted by St.Peter. "Welcome to Heaven, Zebra. What can I do for you?" "Well," said the Zebra "all my life I wanted to know if I was black with white stripes, or was I white with black stripes. Maybe you can set me straight St.Peter." "I don't know the answer to that" said St. Peter scratching his head. "But if you go inside and find that great big green clearing, ask the Boss. He'll give you the right answer, I am sure." The Zebra gallops to the clearing, looks up to the sky and says: "God, please tell me the truth... Am I black with white stripes, or am I white with black stripes." Dark clouds form overhead, big thunder and lightning... and a deep voice says.. "You are what you are!" The clouds disappear and sun shines again. The Zebra gallops back to the pearly gates, shaking its mane in puzzlement. St Peter asks: "Well, Zebra, did God give you the answer?" "Nah... he left me totally confused" replied the Zebra. "Well, what did He say?" asked St. Peter. "He said ... 'You are what you are'... And I just don't know what He meant by that" said the Zebra. "Well now that IS your answer. You are White with black stripes. If you were Black with white stripes, He would have said.... "You eez what you eez...."
