flap, if it remains so close, this election might turn on the weather in several states. It might turn on who has the last bit of cash for a media blitz. It might turn on whether the market keeps going down. It might turn on whether blacks sit on their hands because Gore chose a Jew before he chose an African- American running mate. It may turn on any number of variables, many of them frivolous.....

Gore. California traditionally votes Democratic and is a Must-Have for Gore. Bush has been campaigning in the Golden State but has yet to make a significant dent in polls - or in his campaign war chest - despite his promise to not concede the state like his father did in 1992.
