What would it take to prove God's existence to you?

If he (or she) dropped by for a beer I might be more inclined to believe that he (or she) exists. Demonstration of omniscience/omnipotence would require a little more effort; turning water into San Miguel might work.

The stunt that convinced Paul might convince me as well. Since God was willing to pull a trick like that to convince Paul, but isn't willing to make even the slightest overture in my direction, I can only conclude that either there is no God and Paul was having a bout of the DTs, or God has lost interest and wandered away.

I have heard speculation that the God who created our universe was a sort of child-God, who whipped us together as a toy, then tossed us in the closet and forgot about us.

This seems as good a way as any to reconcile the idea of an omnipotent and omniscient creator with the clear evidence of a seriously defective creation.
