that rational people, by their silence, have been indirectly
responsible for much of the world's suffering.

Ah, man on a mission!! :0)

Too much of any medicine (including reason) can create an overdose. Poor GR is probably getting triple dose from the three of us. We are a church of three pastors and a couple of decons (TP,SR) and a handful of Greg and other guests. Quite honestly we need to fill the pews.

Have fun at work, if that is possible.

Solon,

I've got two pieces of news, a good and a bad one.... Let's start with the good one:

The Kingdom of God has befallen!! Oyez! Oyez! Oyez! Indeed a certain Jesus from Nazareth pulled it off about 2000 years ago.... Now for the bad news:

He didn't make it in this universe!! Here's the lowdown:

Minds, Machines and the Multiverse, by Julian Brown
By: David Smillie, August 9, 2000

Excerpt:

Surprisingly (for me at least) he also does a good job of coming up with an explanation for some of that quantum weirdness ... in the form of the many-universe hypothesis. According to this theory (beloved of SF writers everywhere) every action that has more than one possible outcome actually has all those outcomes. Imagine you're driving down the road and have to decide whether to turn left or right. In the ordinary world, you turn left and that's it. But in the quantum world, when you reach the decision point, two new universes are spawned. The only difference is that in one universe you turned left, and in the other one you turned right. And it's like that for every decision ... made by everyone. An infinite series of universes popping into existence every second of every minute of every day.
