I cure this by trading covered calls.

methinks your post reveals a new truth that is self evident;;by buying on the dips and selling on the pops......you will often have more bottomline at the end of the year then merely holding long with the added advantage that you can use your money elsewhere in the

interim after each sale while awaitimg re-entry

Sam, it seems the one thing that will determine what kind of investor one becomes is temprament. I do not have it to be a trader. But I do see the need to play the swings and have found options tools that suit me for that purpose.
