I hope you are saving your writing to a floppy. Over time you get a hundred or so you might find a publisher. Writing down your feelings over a span of years makes a better collection than having to sit down and make something up.

You make me want to head for the piano and start putting your words to music... sadly I have no memory of the tune we wrote that night. We should have taped it or something.

This morning I went into the kitchen to refill my coffee cup and heard a cat eating in the laundry room. They've been eating a LOT lately at night--I knew it wasn't Shy returned because there was no kitty spray on the walls.
I figured maybe it was winter coming and they were adding body fat.

I do that.

So I walked over and there was--
a skunk.
In my laundry room.
Having breakfast.
He turned and looked at me in some alarm and lifted his tail and I said, "Oh EXCUSE ME!!!! You just go right ahead and help yourself!!" And I backed out really fast-
He waddled to the catdoor and crawled out, leaving just a teeny whiff of himself behind.
I waited a minute and then opened the door and he was just sitting in the garage, very calmly. Now where were Myers and Tesh? Why have they let this skunk come in every night and eat all their food? Don't you think they would have had a fight with him at least once?

Then in the paper this morning was a story about a man who killed a rabid skunk in his yard- i think it attacked his dog or him or something.
But our skunk didn't look rabid. He looked fuzzy and nice.
And he hasn't been nearly as stinky and awful as Shy.
I think I'll call him Sweetie.

I got to looking at the different trees and their leaves, like you are infectous or something. Ashes, Elms, populars and box elder trees have dropped their leaves. Maples and willows hanging on. Locusts haven't even changed color. Oaks will hold their leaves until next spring. Neat to watch all the dying take place. The new buds and new growth is always exciting in the Spring. Life from death, what a cycle. I do hope your sister gets to see the new life forming. I love having seasons even if I'm not fond of scooping snow.

Saw the Tide was down by 10 with minutes left to play against Tennessee. Thought they could only lose to Florida and Nebraska. Tennessee?
