I just went to the Avici web site. It looks to me like the switch fabric in the core of the TSR is still electrical. Is that accurate? FWIW I also noticed that the TSR does not yet have OC192. So most of the discussion surrounding OC192 wire speed forwarding is theoretical.

Thanks for the link! I was impressed that the guy knows what he is talking about. Sounds like some of the Charlotte's Web founders came out of Nicecom, which became 3Com's ATM/Ethernet group in Israel. But did he say they had raised >300 mil. and wanted to raise another 300 mil. for round 3? (he was hard to understand) Sounds like a lot for a startup planning to earn 8 million by Q3 next year. Anyway, the test will be if one of these beta's turns into a P.O. with 6 - 7 zeros on it.
