Absolutely, I agree with you here. What I understand is really wonderful thing about the CMOS chips is that they open up the ability to process information as well. Which means you can do all kinds of things like motion control, sharpness and color correction as you collect the image instead of after the fact with a DSP. The real problem I see is the depreciation caused by the prices falling too fast. Every one of the scanner manufacturers got hit bad by the floor dropping out on the prices of scanners.
