Tomato, I'm sorry I misunderstood your question (and slipped into my obsession with Carl's possible lack of empathy with us). Your question is a damn good one, and looking at it from the outside I don't know why the Icahn group is not actively trying to maximize value for their position. It may be, as someone here has suggested, that they are preparing a low ball buyout bid prior to getting value for the present and potential assets. But there seems to be no indicator coming from the company as to what their strategy is.
