Result: They are currently earning extraordinary profits on RDRAM in what is otherwise usually a price driven commodity market.

This comes from statements regarding the actual manufacturing cost of RDRAM from Rambus. The actual cost of producing the chips, even as yields continue to increase, is not that much greater than the cost of SDRAM. It just costs a lot to get that proficient. Yet the price of RDRAM is still at a good premium. I don't have any specific links. This is from conference calls and other miscellaneous publications that I've run into. And also general common sense that given the supply/demand imbalance that RDRAM is selling at an extraordinary profit at this point in time and Samsung should be able to remain ahead of the competition for quite sometime in this regard given the learning curve.
