Re: "Any comments? Any idea what this is about? The article states that the project is slowed due to a shortage of workers."

Yep - call a plumber or an electrician - see how long ot takes them to come to your house for an "apppointment".

Re: "My concern is that demand for the type of flash manu. by Intel has slowed."

Sure - everybody prefers AMD's flash because it is..well..from AMD !

Re: Intel Delays Opening of Colorado Chip Factory

I don't think that delaying a FAB's opening from a few weeks before the Holidays to a few weeks after them is a big deal - most FABs seem to take longer to build than expected. What is a little scary, though, is the thought that Intel could be so organizationally screwed up that an important supplier would give up on doing business with them (and what supplier could be more important than one of the builders of your primary resource, FAB space?)

It's another head scratcher regarding what has always been imagined to be a well run company.

Dan

RE:"Any idea what this is about? The article states that the project is slowed due to a shortage of workers.

However my experience in development has been that in a tight labor market you make sure you pay your general and subs on time."

Being somewhat close to the construction industry I can tell you that skilled labor is in very short supply. Especially "skilled" labor. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Intel's contractors have been unable to deliver on time and have suffered some penalty for being slow to completion. Some might even have quit.
