Do previous statements always guarantee the validity of future ones?

res- Flynt has never been wrong,

Excuse me for asking. (Oh wisely educated, CPA, Lawyer, supposedly Republican), but how the heck do you know?? Have you followed the guy around his entire life? Have you studied and examined every stand he's ever taken? Have you sifted through the hundreds of court cases he's (probably)been involved in?

What a preposterous statement to make! And you call yourself a lawyer?? Flynt lost his case of honesty in regard to Jerry Falwell. The courts ruled in his favor because they said caricature parody was protected under the first amendment. Not because he was right about Falwell having sex with his mother.

The Flynt report was full of innuendo and rumor, nothing more. The only thing it did was muddy the water and send the mainstream press into a tizzy hoping to find Republican dirt, to balance against Clinton's sleaze in the Oval office. Livingston and Barr went public before Flynt had a chance to report it. His threat may have precipitated it, but we will never know for sure. It's probably easy to find sexual dirt on ones opponents, when you steal 900 FBI files and have them piled around the oval office for 6 months. No doubt, this influenced Barr and Levingston as much as bringing Flynt into the fray.

Bringing Larry Flynt (pornographer, child molester and sleaze king) into the political arena now to save Whopper Al, is the best things Republicans could have happen. Although the Presidential race is locked up, there are many congressional races hanging in the balance, and all the public needs is a littler reminder of how Democrats have denigrated the culture, under Clinton/Gore's watch, to change a few votes.

lawdog, Your judgement shows. When the person you most admire is Larry Flynt it tells us something. I would bet your value system would be very interesting and, probably, disgusting to most.
